An unidentified young man, believed to be involved in internet fraud (commonly referred to as a “Yahoo Boy”), reportedly knocked out two teeth of a police officer in Owerri after a disagreement over a phone search.
The incident occurred after the officer insisted on checking the young man’s phone, despite repeated warnings and video evidence provided by the suspect showing that the Inspector General of Police had banned such actions. When the officer persisted, the young man allegedly headbutted him, causing the injury.
