The Kano State Government Has Allocated N2.5 Billion For Quarterly Mass Weddings Across Its 44 Local Government Areas In 2025. This Was Disclosed By Musa Shanono, The Commissioner For Planning And Budget, During A Breakdown Of The State’s 2025 Budget, Which Was Passed By The State House Of Assembly On January 31.

The Mass Weddings Are Part Of The N91.32 Billion Budgeted For Governance And Service Delivery, Aimed At Promoting Social Welfare, Human Rights, And Sustainable Growth. Other Allocations Include:

N1 Billion For Ramadan Feeding

N955 Million For Manpower And Household Surveys

N1.049 Billion For Printing Machines, Water System Repairs, And Library Equipment

N267.6 Million For Islamic Calendar Production And Dawah Programs

N589 Million For Security Research And Street Begging Interventions

N200 Million For Office Furniture, Software Development, And Administrative Maintenance

The Total 2025 Budget Is N719.76 Billion, Reflecting A 31% Increase From The Initial Proposal Of N549.16 Billion By Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. It Also Represents A 65% Increase From The 2024 Budget, With N262.67 Billion Allocated To Recurrent Expenditure And N457.08 Billion For Capital Projects.
