Additionally, he has directed all NNPC facilities in Rivers State to cease operations and vacate the state immediately.

In a public address, Governor Fubara urged Rivers indigenes to stockpile food supplies and remain indoors for a period of three days, citing heightened security concerns.

He further declared Rivers a “Militant State,” signaling a bold and controversial move to assert autonomy amid an intensifying conflict with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, the former governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Fubara’s administration has framed this escalation as a response to what it describes as Wike’s dictatorial influence, accusing him of orchestrating destabilizing actions against the state.
