The Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has ordered the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, to provide security for the 17 Edo State All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Assembly Members, .
In a letter dated August 5, based on a petition to his Office, by Idahosa-West Chambers, Malami said that the security measure is necessary, to prevent the breakdown of law and order in the State.
The 17 Lawmakers backing the APC Governorship Candidate in the September election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, have been locked in a battle to access the Edo Assembly Complex, on Ring Road, Benin City, the State capital, with 7 Lawmakers loyal to the Governor of the State and Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Godwin Obaseki.
