Governor Nyesom Wike calls on the voters in Edo State, to vote for PDP’s Governor Godwin Obaseki.
The Chairman of the National Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the September 19, Governorship election in Edo State and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has urged the electorate to vote for the PDP Candidate, Governor Godwin Obaseki, and his Deputy/Running Mate, Philip Shaibu, to end godfatherism in the State, Page 36 learnt.
Governor Wike made the call at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, in Benin City, the State capital, while ending PDP’s campaigns with a mega rally.
The grand finale of the rally was also attended by Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, and Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, as well as the National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, and a former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, among other dignitaries.
Governor Wike claimed that Governor Obaseki had done his best in going round the 192 Wards of Edo State, to solicit for the votes of residents, stressing that, the large number of persons that attended the rally, is an attestation that the Edo State Governor has done what he needed to do.
With the mammoth crowd at the rally, the Rivers State Governor claimed that Obaseki has already won the election, asking the electorate to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to announce the election results in favour of Governor Obaseki.
Other PDP Chiefs speak on the Edo Governorship election.
Speaking, Governor Tambuwal asked Edo residents to protect their votes, saying that, they should not be intimidated, or allow themselves to be enticed by money, to sell their votes.
Also, Governor Okowa hailed Governor Obaseki for moving round the 92 Wards to Campaign, hoping that he would emerge victorious on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Peter Obi stated that voting for the Edo State Governor would guarantee the people of the State and the unborn generations, a brighter future.
The PDP National Chairman, urged lovers of democracy worldwide, to ensure that the Edo State Governorship election is free, fair, and credible.
