Breaking News: Members of the South-South region of Nigeria are beginning to resign from the Nigerian military, citing solidarity with the Igbo people, whom they regard as their brothers. Many of them now believe that the Igbos were the true strength behind their continued service.
“The military is getting weaker by the day without the presence of the Igbos. Nigeria is playing a dangerous gameโtheyโre missing the point. Unless the Igbos return to the military, the Nigerian armed forces could soon be empty,” one soldier said.
There is growing regret among South-South soldiers about joining the army in the first place, as they now feel used and unappreciated.
