The Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, on Wednesday, stated clearly that the Delta State Government will not receive a kobo from the £4.2 million recovered former Governor James Ibori looted funds from the United Kingdom, UK government, .
He said that Nigeria would not breach the agreement reached with the United Kingdom government, concerning the disbursement of the said funds.
He stated this during a One on One interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’.
The Federal Government had earlier confirmed receipt of £4,214,017.66 of the James Ibori loot.
Speaking further, AGF Malami listed the projects the money would be spent on, according to the agreement reachedby the UK and Nigerian governments.
He said: “The way international diplomatic processes operate with particular regard to the recovery of looted asset, is more or less about engagement among the nations of interest.”
