Former Abia State Governor And Current Senator For Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, Has Urged The South East Region To Embrace The Political Benefits Of Being Part Of The Mainstream Political Environment.
In A Facebook Post, Kalu Expressed Concern That President Bola Tinubu Secured Only 4% Of The Vote In Abia State During The 2023 Presidential Election, Which He Deemed A Poor Result, Especially Given The Prominent APC Figures In The State. He Called On APC Members To Unite And Work Towards Securing Victory For The Party In Abia In The 2027 Elections.
Kalu Also Clarified That His Recent Meeting In Abuja With Abia APC Stakeholders Was Aimed At Fostering Unity Within The Party And Strengthening Support For The APC, With Governor Otti Not Involved In The Discussions. He Emphasized That He Refrains From Publicly Commenting On The Performance Of His Successors, Stating That The Electorate Will Determine Their Fate.
โFor Example In 2019 When I Joined The APC, President Buhari Made 68% In Our Constituency But President Tinubu Came Back To Make Only Only 4% In The Entire Abia In 2023, He Was Not Happy With The Political Numbers Of Abia.
