President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed insinuations that he was going to contest for the third term after the completion of his second mandate in 2023.
Speaking at the ongoing National Executive Council, NEC, meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abuja on Friday, Mr Buhari said he would not make the mistake of attempting a third term in office.
According to the President, apart from age, he was limited by the two terms stated in the constitution.
“I’m not going to make the mistake of attempting a third term. Besides the age, the constitution makes provision for only two terms,” he said.
Mr Buhari, therefore, urged the APC and its members to be up-and-doing, saying that it will be shameful of them if the party collapses after his tenure.
