General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adeboye, has reportedly said that a man, who took a bank loan to sponsor the church’s convention, became chairman of the bank.
According to Church Times, Adeboye shared the testimony during his message on Sunday, titled: ‘The shortest way to the greatest height’, part 7 in the series, “From lockdown to leaping up”, on the church’s television channel, Dove Media.
He said: “He came to me and said he wanted to sponsor the convention. He wanted to know how much it would cost. I told him I could not give a figure of that particular year but I could give him the figure of the previous year. So I gave him the figure.”
“I thought he would shrink back. But he did not. He came later and brought the draft for the money. I was shocked, “But the good news is that he became the chairman of the bank he borrowed from”, he stated.”
He said seeking God first is the shortest way to get to the top, citing the example of Solomon in the Bible, who asked for wisdom instead of wealth, adding that God ended up blessing him with so much wealth.
“You must ask yourself why do you want to prosper? The Bible encourages us to seek the kingdom of God first and other things will be added, attract more friends to the kingdom of God. It should be to be a kingdom treasurer and that the believer wants to populate God’s kingdom.”
Adeboye pointed out that to whom much is given, much is expected, saying God should be number one in one’s agenda if one wants greatness.
