One of the major voices of the 2020 EndSARS protest and an Advocate for a better Nigeria, Aisha Yesufu, has called on Nigerians, especially the youths, to shun their old ways of voting in past elections, and vote in Leaders with proven capacity in the 2023 general elections, .
In a series of tweets on Thursday afternoon, via her verified Twitter handle, @AishaYesufu, she reminded Nigerians that there was an Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, strike just before the 2019 general elections, just as there is an ongoing prolonged ASUU strike just ahead of the 2023 general elections, with no resolve by the President Muhammadu Buhari All Progressives Congress, APC, Federal Government in sight.
Her exact words: “Going into the 2019 election, there was ASUU strike. Going into the 2023 election, there is ASUU strike. You cannot keep voting in the same people and expect a different result.”
Making reference to a reposted video she did a year ago titled: ‘The future project: young and emerging Leaders”, Aisha stated: “I did this video a year ago. It seemed almost impossible then that what is happening now would happen. I am so glad that Nigerians are saying #EnoughisEnough.
“Nigerian people, it is in our hands to do away with the political class that has not worked, and vote in Leaders on the basis of competence, character, capacity and compassion. Nigeria is worth fighting for, Nigeria is worth standing for.”
