Abuja – Niger Delta Ex-militants have threatened to drag the Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Charles Dokubo to court over alleged mismanagement of fund and fraudulent award of contracts.
The group under the aegis of Niger Delta Amnesty Leaders Progressive Change For Buhari ( NDALPCB ) disclosed this in a press statement signed by the Coordinator of the group, Bibi Oduku on Sunday in Abuja.
The group alleged that Dokubo violated the due process in the award of contracts in the region with the purpose of enriching himself by diverting the funds through his cronies ( contractors).
Oduku said the Amnesty boss must give a detailed breakdown of all contracts awarded under his watch, numbers of contracts and contractors. He added that he should be prepared to tell the court the locations and benefits of such contracts to the people of the region.
The ex-militants leader also accused him
of lack of accountability and diversion of slots and stipends meant for former militants. He said the group would tender evidence to show that Amnesty boss squandered and misappropriated the resource of Amnesty programme meant for the empowerment of ex-agitators.
The group threatened to mobilise its members to Abuja for mass action against
the Amnesty boss.
Oduku said: “Apart from his high handedness, Prof. Dokubu has no regard for constituted authority as he flagrantly turned down a note from the Chairman of NIMASA where he was clearly asked to do the needful and empower the Niger Delta Amnesty Leaders Progressive Change For Buhari. ”
Recall that 75 ex-militants under the Benuwolo Camp in the second phase of the scheme in Bayelsa State had approached a federal high court in Yenagoa to demand the payment of outstanding N492 million for the 75 members of the camp from January 2011 to May 2019 from Dokubo.
