ASABA – Delta Ijaw All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to uphold calls suggesting the appointment of Delta Ijaw leader, High Chief Michael Johnny, as candidate for the Presidential Amnesty Office in the Niger Delta.
The youths tasked the president to make an imminent announcement on the position of the programme, stating that every state in the Niger Delta region had handled the office, except Delta that was yet to be appointed as amnesty coordinator.
The statement was signed by Timi Coleman, President; Ebi Kasikoro, Secretary; Famous Belief, Warri North APC Youth Leader; Bakumor Pedro Jude, Warri South West APC Youth Leader and Gbozimor John, Warri South APC Youth Leader, made available to journalists in Asaba, Delta State.
The statement read in part: “Your Excellency, we wish to let you know that Chief Michael Johnny is a true believer of good governance, thus he has sacrificed fully since aligning with the APC in 2015.
“Since then he has shown his loyalty to the party and ably delivering in full capacity for your re-election bid scoring high votes with electorates from his war.
