The President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, Yerima Shettima, has called on the people of the North, to remove religious and ethnic sentiments when voting in the 2023 Presidential election, learnt.
He made the call while lamenting that the people of the North have suffered so much under the incumbent administration.
Yerima spoke in a chat with Reporters, in Kaduna, on Tuesday.
He noted that the Northern youths are fundamental to sustainable peace and security in the country.
The AYCF President therefore, advised the government to create an atmosphere for them to thrive.
He said that providing jobs is not enough, but a conducive environment to develop their potential, as well as skills acquisition.
Yerima charged the State and Local Governments to complement the efforts of the Federal Government.
His words: “Northern part of the country has never had it well at all, and who are the direct victims?
“The youth and the women have suffered so much.”
Commenting on the 2023 Presidential election, he advised the North to unite and give all Candidates a level playing field.
