Emerging report indicates that the Coalition of South-East Support Groups for the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has said that he is the only chance for an Igbo emerging as President of Nigeria, come 2027 general elections.
The National Coordinator of the Coalition, Chief Ejikeme Odumegwu, said this in Enugu, while inaugurating the South-East arm of the Coalition in Enugu, on Thursday.
Odumegwu called on members of the PDP in the South-East, to be united and deliver Atiku in the 2023 Presidential election.
According to him, with his candidacy and eventual victory, he will right the wrongs and restore peace and progress in the country.
Odumegwu therefore, urged the people of the South-East not to throw away their political energy to an unclear and uncoordinated political move and frenzy of the moment.
He said exactly: “Atiku is the only chance of Igbo Presidency in 2027.”
On the newly inaugurated group, he noted that they would focus on the Atiku project, by coordinating, sensitising and educating the people of the South-East on the circumstances of the emergence of Atiku and his running mate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State.
He stated: “We are not going to engage in the usual jamboree campaign, but in a grassroots mobilisation built on a pragmatic and real mass base.
“All hands must be on deck as we push the Atiku project to each polling booth in South-East, to ensure the victory of Atku in 2023, and dislodge the APC come 2023.
“With Atiku’s candidacy, we can right the wrong and restore peace to this our great nation once more.”
