Emerging report indicates that the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, has on Friday, June 17, submitted the name of his running mate to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, just before the expiration of the deadline that ends at midnight, .
This was confirmed by Bashir Ahmad, a former Media Aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, via his verified Twitter handle.
Ahmad did not however, disclose the identity of Tinubu’s running mate, as it is rumoured that the name submitted is not the actual name of his 2023 running mate, but was done just to meet the deadline set by INEC.
He tweeted: “Our Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has submitted the name of his running mate to INEC, his Media Office has confirmed.”
Also, the Labour Party, LP, 2023 Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, who is still in Egypt, on a 3-day developmental study visit, is said to have submitted a ‘fake name’ to INEC, as his 2023 running mate, just to meet the deadline set by the Commission, as he continues to find the right Candidate, particularly a Northern Muslim, to field for the general elections.
Meanwhile, a former Presidential Spokesman, Doyin Okupe, has said that he is the 2023 Vice Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party.
He made the announcement on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’.
