The former Senate President arrived the event with his wife, Toyin, among other top dignitaries, including the immediate-past Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed, and mingled and greeted most of the guests present at the special event.
One of the main observations by Page 36 at the Media Breakfast when delivering his keynote speech, was that Saraki spoke from his heart and his head for a good 30 minutes, without the help of any written speech on paper or a teleprompter.
This really stood him out, as most Nigerian Politicians and Leaders often rely on written speeches on paper and sometimes on a teleprompter when delivering an address.
This proved that among the other Presidential Aspirants under the PDP for the 2023 elections, that Saraki is indeed very smart and fit not just physically, but also mentally, as he touched on all the problems facing the country, in the 30 minutes speech.
During his speech, he vowed among other promises to Nigerians to do everything within his power to ensure that every citizen, whether poor or rich, Muslim or Christian, Southerner or Northerner, is safe under his watch, if he emerges as the next President of the country, adding that, he will greatly equip the Security Agencies and make sure the Security Agents are well paid like their counterparts in other developed countries of the world.
He also reminded Nigerians that as the 8th Senate President, he defended the integrity of the National Assembly, even when some powerful forces were trying to take advantage of the tenets of democracy in the country.
He stated that he intends to carry the youths along in his government, revealing how he had always worked the youths in his past Offices, and always till this day, even as a private Politician, employs and continues to work with the youths in different capacities.
He said that if he becomes the next President of Nigeria, he will work every single day like it is his last day in Office, stating that he will arrive his office everyday with a plan and daily goals to achieve, just like he did as Senate President.
Bukola Saraki stressed with passion and seriousness in his voice that he will accept no excuse for any kind of failure under his Presidency.
He however, stated that he may not be able to solve the numerous long years of problems the country is facing in the different sectors, but said that he wants to be the generation to start the change and transformation the country really needs, and also remove the badge of dishonour on Nigeria among the comity of nations.
The former Senate President said that he hopes he can start a generation, due to his great performance as President, come 2023, where Nigerians in future elections will no longer have to ask where Politicians come from, but would concentrate on their capabilities and what they have to offer that can greatly transform country for the best, when seeking elective Offices.
He promised to train one millions youths every dear of his Presidency in different professional fields, to make sure the future generation is not wasted in crimes and other negative activities that would continue to dent the image of the country internationally and nationally.
Saraki vowed that under his Presidency there will be strict compliance with the rule or law, and serious consequences for those who fail to comply, no matter how high they are placed in the society.
He also assured Students that they should forget about any form of strike under his Presidency, promising to not only make Nigerian Universities compete favourably with other top Universities in the world, but to also do his best to make Nigeria the number one Tech Hub in Africa, especially considering the number of Nigerians with great ideas, some of whom are already being recognised for their great innovations around the world.
He humbly appealed to Nigerians to consider his 2023 Presidential ambition, vote him in the next elections, and trust him to deliver on his mandate.
