Emerging report reaching Page 36 on Friday, indicates that some Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, have continued to make it difficult for people in Southern Nigeria to register for their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
It was revealed that the INEC Officials are now asking for bribes from Nigerians in the South, who are trying to finish their registrations before the deadline, in order for them to vote in the 2023 general elections, especially the highly anticipated Presidential election.
A Facebook commented today: “Some of this INEC Officials in some Local Government Areas are asking for money from prospective voters before they can be registered, replace damaged PVC, or even to collect already registered PVCs. If you refuse giving them money, then they result to frustrate you until registering or collecting your PVC becomes impossible.”
