The 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, has on Wednesday, paid a strategic visit to the Governor of Rivers State and recently aggrieved Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Nyesom Wike, 36 .
Both men went into a closed session, after exchanging pleasantries publicly and posing for some photos.
Their meeting comes amid Peter Obi’s steadily rising popularity mostly among the youths in support for him to emerge as the next President of the country, and also amid the recent crisis in the PDP, that saw the Presidential Candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, ditching Governor Wike at the very last minute, despite being very highly recommended, and opting for the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as his 2023 running mate.
Obi and Governor Wike are meeting at the latter’s private residence, in Port Harcourt, the State capital.
Both men, however, did not speak on the purpose of the meeting, as Journalists were not granted access.
However, there are speculations that this may be a meeting to see if both men can work together despite their political odds, to take the country to the level of greatness it deserves, come 2023 general elections.
