Emerging report reaching on Monday, indicates that the Lekki Concession Company Limited, LCC, has announced that it has perfected plans to recommence toll operations at the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge, popularly known as the Lekki Toll Gate.
This is coming about 18 months after tolling was suspended at the Bridge, following the massacre that took place at the Toll Gate, on October 20, 2020, of peaceful EndSARS protesters by suspected Security Agents on an order from above.
The Managing Director of the LCC, Yomi Omomuwasan, who announced the plan in a statement, said that tolling will commence on April 1, 2022.
He also announced that commuters plying the corridor will not be paying any toll for the first two weeks, until 15th April, 2022.
