Emerging report reaching Friday, indicates that the 2023 Presidential Election Tribunal has on Friday, admitted the evidence presented by the Labour Party and its 2023 Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, to prove that Obi was the authentic winner of the February 25, 2023, poll, and not President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as controversially announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The Lead Counsel to Obi informed the Tribunal sitting in Abuja, that he had a schedule of more evidence which they desire to render before it.
The Counsel continued with evidence (election results) from Rivers and Kogi States, presenting Certified True Copies of the INEC election results from 6 Local Government Areas in Rivers State, as evidence.
Again, the Counsel to the first, second and third Respondents, objected to the admissibility of the evidence.
However, the Tribunal admitted the documents as evidence, while awaiting the arguments of the Respondents who opposed to the admissibility of the documents.
Apart from evidence from Rivers and Kogi States, the Petitioners also presented additional Certified True Copies of election results from Bida Local Government Area of Niger State, and 21 Local Government Areas in Adamawa State.
