Emerging report on Monday evening, indicates that Nigerian Airline Operators have threatened to shut down their operations in 3 days, if their demand for operational licenses from the President Muhammadu Buhari Federal Government to begin importation of fuel, following the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country, is not granted.
This was made known by the Chairman of Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema.
He said exactly: “We have only three more days, all Airlines in Nigeria will shut down. We are not threatening this country, it is a fact.”
He spoke at a meeting of Oil Marketers and Airline Operators, at the National Assembly Complex, in Abuja.
Also in attendance at the meeting, was the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC, Mele Kyari, and other Stakeholders.
Onyema added: “I have the mandate of all Airlines, to demand that Airlines begin importation of fuel, if we can buy Planes of millions of dollars, we can also import fuel ourselves. Let NNPC give Airlines licenses, we want to import ourselves.”
