The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship Candidate in the October 10, election in the State, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, has on Friday, approached the Election Petition Tribunal, to challenge the results of the poll which declared the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, as the winner of the said election,
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared the APC Candidate as the winner of the election, having scored the highest number of total votes cast in the election.
According to INEC, Governor Akeredolu defeated Jegede, as well as the Candidates of other political parties in the poll.
Having studied the results and not satisfied, the PDP Candidate, however, has headed to the Tribunal to challenge the results today.
The Ondo State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kennedy Peretei, confirmed the development to Journalists.
