The National Executive Committee, NEC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has on Thursday, approved the zoning of all Executive positions of the party, .
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, disclosed this while addressing Newsmen on the outcome of the NEC meeting which held in Abuja.
He stated that the NEC considered and adopted the Enugu Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi-led Zoning Committee’s report, ahead of the party’s National Convention, scheduled for October 30 and 31.
The Committee recommended that the current elective National Working Committee, NWC, positions in the party should be swapped between the North and the South.
He however, clarified that what was approved was not about the Executive and Legislative positions in the 2023 general elections, but the elective NWC positions for the forthcoming National Convention.
“So far, nothing has been said to alter the date of the Convention, which is October 30”, he added.
