The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, must be in shock and feel some sort of betrayal, as President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Senator Magnus Abe into the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, on Saturday morning, representing the South-South geopolitical zone.
Page 36 recalls, that Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Magnus Abe have been sworn enemies since 2019, over who control the political machinery of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chapter in Rivers State.
On Saturday, Femi Adesina, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, in a statement, announced Magnus Abe as part of the NNPC Board.
The statement reads in full:
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reconstitution of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), after the expiration of the term of the Board members appointed in 2016.
Members of the new Board are: Mohammed Lawal (North-West), Tajudeen Umar (North-East), Adamu Mahmood Attah (North Central), Senator Magnus Abe (South-South), Dr. Stephen Dike (South-East), and Chief Pius Akinyelure (South-West).
The new Board will be in place for three years.
