The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) and the police have diverted traffic on the Local Airport Road in Ikeja after a tanker fully loaded with Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS).
In a tweet on its verified Twitter handle @followlastma, the agency allayed fears on road users, stating that the Lagos Fire Service and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) are on ground to ensure any escalation of the situation is prevented.
Commuters have been advised to take alternate routes to and from their destinations.
