He said there’s a big problem when Nigerians question Buhari’s existence.
President Muhammadu Buhari has been described as an imaginary leader by a former Lagos State Commissioner of Police and member of Northern Elders Forum (NEF) board of trustees, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav.
Tsav in an interview with Daily Sun, supports the notion that President Muhammadu Buhari is too anonymous that Nigerians go as far as questioning his existence.
There has been claims that President Muhammadu Buhari though being the elected president, has been turned into a puppet by cabal in the presidency.
The claim was further supported by a December 9, 2019 letter by Buhari’s National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno who specifically identified the President’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, as the major force running the Buhari’s administration.
Monguno in his letter, accused Abba Kyari of heavily influencing the President, and even giving out directives to service chiefs without the knowledge much less approval of the president. He described Kyari’s interference on national security matters as ‘undue and dangerous’.
However, while there’s more in favor of claims that a cabal does exist in the presidency, President Buhari (whom many still doubt if at all he’s the one releasing statements through his spokesmen), has in the preceding year while on a 14 day holiday in London, debunked claims of his government been hijacked by a cabal warning that there cannot be anyone too powerful for him to control.
However, frequent clashes and misunderstandings in the villa only seem to justify the claims that Buhari is far from being in control of his government. Monguno’s recent memo only add more credence to the claims.
Tsav who was asked to comment on recent call by some members of the National Assembly (Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe to be specific), that President Buhari should resign, said Buhari is not directly to blame for his administration’s woeful performance, but that his inability to take charge of his own government has made him a culprit as well.
He said, “What is bothering Nigerians is that he (Buhari) is not saying anything, he’s very quiet and people think that he doesn’t even exist.”
Tsav’s response like Monguno’s claim ,seem to suggest that Buhari despite being the president, is somewhat powerless like one who is himself, also under a higher authority. This is a totally strange situation in the history of Nigeria.
Senator Shehu Sani in response to Monguno’s accusations against Kyari, said unless Buhari publicly addresses the issue by proving he’s actually in charge, his indifference otherwise, suggests he’s well aware of Kyari’s dealings, and is in full support of it.
