Major General Muhammadu Buhari was born on 17th December 1942 into a Fulani family in Daura. He is the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who retired as a major general in the Nigerian Army and served as the Nation’s head of state from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985. He took over power in a military coup.
There are controversies surrounding his age just as his WAEC Certificate which many people have been left in doubts.
According to history, Buhari was 33 years old at the break out of the Nigerian Civil War in 1967. Between 1967 and 2019 is 52 years which when added to the 33years in 1967, he would be 85years.
After 52 Years, Buhari is supposed to be 85years in 2019 not 77years.
However, Buhari may be older than 77. But he’s definitely not 85 as portrayed here.
History shows has it that Alani Akinrinade and Isama joined the military in 1960. Today, Akinrinade is 80 while Isama is 79years. They are all Buhari senior in many military ranks.
Buhari, Babangida, David Mark, Yar’adua all joined the military in 1962. But David Mark who was the youngest was 13 years when the joined military through the army school.
They were 72 intakes including General One Mohammed, Adisa, Odeleke, Ogbeha, Omeruo, Raji Rasaki, etc. These set of intakes because were the last in ages. Buhari will certainly be older than them but not 85 as alleged.
