It must be exhausting to be a Buharist these days.
It is one of those difficult times to work for an underperforming Buhari government especially when even the President’s base are beginning to lose faith.
Nigeria has been under lockdown down due to COVID-19 pandemic, and the Buhari administration is confused on how to support Nigerians still confined to their homes since March.
It’s undoubtedly been tough for families who depend on daily incomes to meet their basic needs. But what’s more disturbing however, is that President Buhari in his previous address to the nation, failed to allay the fears of Nigerians by addressing their major concerns.
The President’s second address to the nation on Monday 13th April, was particularly condemned by critics who described it as ’empty and shallow’.
But while concerned Nigerians were left fuming over the so called ’empty broadcast’, this Buhari supporter from Akwa Ibom State, George Udom, thinks the broadcast was record breaking, and said he has never been so proud of the president his whole life.
According to him, Buhari’s speech was watched on TV by 4.63 Billion people in 372 countries worldwide, 2.48 Billion listened on radio & 3.39 Billion watched online. He added that no President’s speech has ever reached such a large audience in history.
How and where Mr George sourced his data to make such unfounded claims, has left his Facebook followers thinking the broom might have been responsible for his mental illness.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have more weeks to remain indoors and it would be interesting to see how they’ll cope especially violent conducts are now being reported in some parts of the country.
Latest data from NCDC shows a total of 442 confirmed cases, 152 discharges, and 13 deaths from covid-19 in Nigeria.
Thirty-five new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows:
19 in Lagos
9 in FCT
5 in Kano
2 in Oyo
