Teachers who were employed to teach in various secondary schools in Gombe State have decried non-payment of their salaries after more than one year of employment into the service of the state ministry of education. gathered that 63 out of the 727 teachers employed by the previous administration in the state have not been receiving their monthly salaries from the state government for many months now.
Investigation by our reporter revealed that, the 63 teachers were part of the 727 employed by the previous administration of Ibrahim Dankwambo on October 31, 2018 and aren’t yet been fully integrated into the payment system before the coming of the present administration.
According to one of the affected staff who don’t want his name mentioned, after passing through all the rigors of the employment processes, 727 of them successfully got appointed to teach in the various secondary schools by the previous government through the state’s teachers service commission since October 2018 but while waiting for their names to be captured in the payroll, the present administration terminated the process midway when already 664 names were successfully added and 63 of them were left out.
