The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has come under heavy criticism, over his recent threats to kill members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, who he claimed are causing trouble in his State, and bury them like vultures,
A Nigeria-based popular Human Rights organisation, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has lampooned Governor Wike, threatening to drag the Rivers State Governor before the International Criminal Court, ICC, at The Hague, in Netherlands, for making such reckless threats.
Governor Wike had during the commissioning of construction work at the Ahoada Campus of the Rivers State University, and the dualisation of the Ahoada-Omoku Road, in Ahoada town, said that the IPOB members who refuse to repent immaculately in the State, would soon meet their “funeral”.
Reacting however, HURIWA in a statement on Thursday, said that the Governor’s “power drunkenness that led him into threatening to carry out extralegal killings of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, will be challenged before the International Criminal Court, in The Hague, Netherlands, if he carries through his primitive and unconstitutional threat”.
