The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, has led top Security Officers on Wednesday, to Katsina State, the home State of President Muhammadu Buhari,
This came as protesters demanded the immediate resignation of the President, and the State Governor, Aminu Masari, for their inability to tackle the lingering crisis that has led to loss of many lives and property.
Among those in the company of the IGP are the Director-General of the Department of State Security Services, DSS, Yusuf Magaji Bichi; National Security Adviser, NSA, Babagana Mangunu; top Police Officers, among others.
Immediately upon arriving the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport, the Delegation moved to the Government House, where the State Governor, Aminu Masari, and other top government Officials, went into a close-door meeting.
Meanwhile, the Police has detained Nastura Ashir Sharif, the Leader of the Coalition of Northern Groups, CNG, for organising a peaceful protest in the State.
A statement by the CNG on its Facebook page, said that he was arrested and moved to Abuja, shortly after the protest on Tuesday.
