A 27-year-old lady named Tomisin has cried out to the public after her mother refused to tell her who her father is. Tomisin who said the search for her father has caused her more pains as all her efforts to locate him has proved abortive and her mother is not willing to tell her the whereabouts of her father.
Currently based in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Tomisin seems not to be the kind of lady that finding life easy without her father.
In her words, “My father’s name is Ojo Shola, he’s from Iju Ita Ogbolu, Akure, Ondo State. My mother doesn’t want to say anything about it, that’s the only information she gave me.
She said the people that don’t have father also live a better life, and that I am not the first person.
About how she felt hearing the comment, she said, “Was not happy but I gat no choice.
I have other siblings but I was my mom first born, but others are my half-siblings.
Young girls who have a warm, close relationship with their dads develop into strong, confident women, considering this, Tomisin had considered going to Akure in search of her father but all her effort is not yielding result as she said, “ I don’t know how to get to the area in Akure to search for my father and my mom wouldn’t allow my, and she pick up quarrel with me any time I bring up the topic.
I got our pastor involved but he later called me and told me that I should listen to my mother as she’s the only thing that matter. But, I just need my father, I am old enough to know my father but I can’t do much.
Fathers play a big role in their daughters’ self-esteem, self-worth and body image, and this is one of the reasons Damilola said she doesn’t have much confidence in herself.
A strong father-daughter bond also plays a heavy role in her ability to express her feelings, her emotions, and her thoughts.
All in all, a father-daughter relationship can have a far-reaching influence on the daughter’s life.
