During a Rumor that a stick was buried in Nnewi instead for the body of the deceased, Mazi Ifeanyi Nwosu – Nigerian Investigative Journalist took a bold step to approach the Mortician IN charge of the Mortuary called AKWUDO MORTUARY NNEWI where the body of the deceased was preserved, he got to find out that many corpses’ have become stick/wood due to Embalmment for years.
The Mortician Explained that Many corpses which were abandoned by their Family members would be embalmed until the owners come for it, adding that what he do is dry embalmment with chemical not Fridge.
He said: “What we do here is dry embalmment not fridge; because of lack of electricity supply in Nigeria we cannot do Fridge embalmment. some corpses have been here for many years, some people may think it’s stick because they have become dry and wood-Like.
The Mortician Further took Mazi Nwosu into the Mortuary where he showed him how many corpses which have become stick, he said some of the corpse have stayed up to 3 – 4 years in the Mortuary.
