Insecurity has become a norm in some part of Nigeria, particularly in Northern Nigeria as Boko Haram terrorists and bandits have claimed several lives since their insurgence which have made most people to advice the APC-led administration to declare a state of emergency and also approve state policing across the entire country.
During Goodluck Jonathan’s administration there were cases of Boko Haram terrorizing some parts of Nigeria, particularly suicide bombers who went to several churches to kill people by the time the bomb is detonated following their resurgence in 2009. Despite el what terrorists did in Jonathan’s administration, that did not stop him from taking development to the North as he built Universities and Almajiri schools for Almajiris who were internally displeased and never had the opportunity to go to school.
Jonathan revealed that he did this so as to reduce the rate of insecurity in the country because when the Almajiris are educated, they will definitely know that it is bad to engage on terrorism.
Fast-forward to Buhari’s administration, banditry became the norm in some states in Nigeria as these bandits storm schools, kidnap hundreds of student and demand for ransom which they use most times to acquire deadly weapons.
A twitter user with the name Somto Onuchukwu took to his twitter page to express his displeasure over the rate of insecurity in the country.
According to him, Jonathan completed 165 Almajiri Schools in Northern Nigeria, but under Buhari’s administration, 618 schools have been shut down due to insecurity. What this man said made me to think of Boko Haram has finally accomplished their goal, which is to bring to end Western Education in the North.
