The Senate Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Caucus on Wednesday rejected the outcome of the Kogi and Bayelsa guber polls.
Addressing national Assembly correspondents, leader of the opposition, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, described both states electoral results as fictitious and do
not reflect position of the electorate in the states.
He called the All Progressives Congress-led government to walk the talk on the issue of the burnt PDP Women Leader in Kogi.
He said, “The APC should not pay lip service to the murder of Mrs Acheju Abuh, who was burnt to death last Monday.
When asked why the Electoral Act was not signed before the election, the leader said” it’s not the fault of the Senate that the Bill was not signed, we did our part but the executive failed.
” The failure to have assented to it is what transpired in Kogi and Bayelsa guber polls last weekend.
” As legislative arm of government, we will do our best, it’s left for the president to do his part for laws that will enhance credible elections.”
