The brand names Tecno and Infinix are definitely not new to the ears of any phone user and even none users of phone in Nigeria.
Interestingly, these phone brands happen to be founded by one of our own, who is also the founder and CEO of Slot System Limited.
The Nigerian born successful CEO is a native of Umuahiah, Abia state with an inspiring success story.
Nnamdi Ezeigbo was born on the 4th of August 1966, in Delta sate, Nigeria where he had his primary and secondary school education at Pamol primary school and Ogini Grammar school respectively.
He went on to study Electrical Electronic Engineering at the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos in 1988, after which he was awarded a degree in Higher National Diploma (HND).
Following this was the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year which he did at Guinness Nigeria PLC, in 1996.
He went further to study Computer & Electronics Engineering at the Lagos State University (LASU), between the years 1996 to 2001, and graduated with a Second Class Upper result.
Unfortunately, the labour market was not in his favor. After searching for a job to no avail, Nnamdi Ezeigbo decided to become an apprentice and learn how to fix computers. After learning for six months, he left to establish himself. Owing to the misunderstanding he had with his master as at the time, he couldn’t continue staying with him, and not being able to afford his own apartment, he went to squat with a friend who owned a bookshop, and from whom he bought his books.
He was known for his honesty and sincerity and he maintained a good relationship with his costumers.

His story began to change when an old customer, who knew him from his days as an apprentice came to his new place and told him that he would like him to continue fixing his computers, but he would prefer he did it from a more comfortable environment. The man offered to help, so, he bought printers which he gave to him to sell so as to afford his own shop.
Nnamdi Ezeigbo rented a shop for N180, 000 (one hundred and eighty thousand Naira). A place he later bought for 100, 000, 000 (one hundred million Naira).
He went on to repair computers and printers
Over time, customers began to demand for branches to be opened close to where they live, in addition to their demand for mobile phones. He however, did not hesitate to take hold of the opportunity that presented itself. But being a smart man, he knew he needed extra managerial skills, so he went on to attend Lagos Business School for an MBA program.
His business expanded over time, which gave birth to the Slot.
During this time, there happened to be a problem of poor telecommunication service from network providers. This made a lot of people resort to buying two phones, so that they could have more than one network available.
Nnamdi noticed this, and went to meet Nokia, in a bid to convince them to go into dual Sim phone production. They turned down the offer, saying it was going to affect their sales adversely, as customers who bought two phones would end up buying just one.
Undeterred, Nnamdi made for China where he met a guy who worked with a company called bird. Bird as at the time was faced with great market challenge. They had an agreement and he came to Nigeria with the guy and registered Tecno. They then designed the first tecno phone, Tecno101. Things did not work out as planned and market was bad so they worked on an upgrade and a much better Tecno102 was produced. Although tecno as at then was seen as a phone for the low class, it however, grew with time and is now of great value in the market.
Interestingly, the production of tecno gave birth to the production of Infinix.
Today, tecno and Infinix are doing great in the market and rendering worthwhile services to its customers.
The resourceful business man now enjoys an estimated net worth of $100million (Dollars), which is equivalent to N35 billion (Naira). His net worth however, keeps rising with increase in demand of his product.
