The Nigerian Army, on Saturday, insisted that Soldiers from the Military, who were deployed on the request of the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to Lekki toll gate, on Tuesday night, October 20, in Lagos, caused no harm whatsoever, to any of the peaceful EndSARS protesters,
The Army Representative, Brigadier-General Ahmed Ibrahim Taiwo, stated this at the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses and other matters.
He said that Army acted strictly within their Rules of Engagement, suggesting technically, that all the casualties reported on the news, the social media, through pictures and videos, and even those visited by the Governor of the State in the hospital, may have done the harm to themselves.
The Army Representative empahsised that men of the Military are human beings, who also have blood flowing in their veins, and would never under any circumstance, cause harm to their fellow citizens.
