He believes Jonathan has the secret to undoing the damages done by the current government.
dluck Jonathan in the process following a highly controversial presidential poll.
Since then, so much has happened with the debate being whether or not Buhari actually lived up to the expectations of Nigerians. While to loyalists of the Buhari government, the president has done remarkably well. However, the number of those who think otherwise, is continuously on the rise, as those who once stood with Buhari, eventually lost faith at some point, and moved to the wailing camp.
Then came calls for ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s return to the polls in 2023 to write the wrongs of Buhari’s 8 years of maladministration.
There was an endorsement for another term of Jonathan government come 2023, by a northern group known as Arewa Youth Assembly (AYA), some time earlier in the year. These calls continue to resonate as Nigerians bemourn misrule by a government which promises to move Nigerians to the next level.
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar who has been critical of the Buhari administration, especially in its handling of the economy and the current covid-19 pandemic, has said if there’s a time for Nigerians to feel the love of government, it is now. But, Nigerians are unsure if government even exists in the country at all.
Senator Dino Melaye who served in the 8th senate, bemourned government’s failure to care for the poor masses in this difficult times.

Dino in a Twitter post earlier today said, “EVERYONE WHO HELD AND IS HOLDING ANY POLITICAL OFFICE IN NIGERIA WHETHER ELECTIVE OR APPOINTED INCLUDING ME HAVE FAIL.WE SOLD CRUDE OIL FOR 64 YEARS BUT WE COULDN’T FEED OUR CITIZENS FOR JUST 2 WEEKS OF LOCKDOWN!! WELL, THE GOD OF THE POOR WILL JUDGE US ALL. ITS TIME TO REBOOT..”
On the area of security, even Buhari’s ardent fans have grown weary.
One user who commented on Jonathan’s post remembering his late boss, former president Umar Musa Yar’Adua, said he and many people in the North who ignored advice to re-elect Jonathan, want him back in 2023.
He said, “Thank you Mr Goodluck Jonathan ! Please sir, we want you back as Nigerian President, forgive our past misunderstanding and past atrocities towards your Government, we, at the end realize you are far better! I remember my late grandfather was encouraging us to vote for you and forget Buhari, but we were then blindfolded by Buhari’s love. May Allah bless you GEJ and guide you to the right path.”
Whether or not Jonathan would seek election in 2023 however, is yet to be seen.
