Real Madrid have identified Mauricio Pochettino, as their no.1 target should they replace current manager Zinedine Zidane, the UK Mirror reports.
Club president, Florentino Perez, is a huge supporter of the Tottenham boss.
Perez was impressed with Pochettino’s ability, to guide Spurs to the Champions League final last season, even though they lost 2-0 to Liverpool.
Zidane is under pressure at the Santiago Bernabeu, despite currently sitting joint top of the table in Spain.
It is believed that the Frenchman’s legacy at the club, is off his Champions League success. However, the opening matchday defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the competition this season, set alarm bells ringing.
PSG crushed Real 3-0 at Parc des Princes, with Zidane’s men putting in a miserable performance. And it did not help that it was their first European fixture, since they were dumped out by Ajax last season.
Jose Mourinho, who managed Madrid for three years, has also been linked with Zidane’s role.
