President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, and Governors from the 19 Northern States, have on Monday, held a meeting in Kaduna,
The meeting which was held a the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, also had in attendance the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, members of the National Assembly from the region, led by the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, among others.
The event was also a joint meeting with members of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.
Although, the reason for the meeting was not made known as at the time of filing in this report, it was gathered that the meeting may be connected with the security situation in the country, the post EndSARS protest tension, and on how to further calm the youths in the region, and engage them in positive dialogue.
The Governors, Monarchs, Ministers, and others, have currently gone behind-closed-door.
A communique is expected at the end of the meeting, later today.
