Observations by on Saturday, revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari was absent at the funeral of the late Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other Military Officers, who died on Friday evening, near the Kaduna International Airport, in the course of duty.
The President, who many Nigerians expected to specially honour the demise of the COAS in public, to the shock of many citizens, did not show up at the ceremony.
Recall, that the President recently went to his hometown in Daura, Katsina State, to observe a little rest, and just recently returned back from Paris, France, where he attended the Africa Finance Summit, just after a trip to the United Kingdom, UK, to see his foreign Doctors.
A section of Nigerians are beginning to wonder why the President intentionally refuses to speak to Nigerians directly on issues of national importance, like the rising and incessant insecurity around the country, especially after leading to the tragic death of the country’s Chief of Army Staff, who has been doing his best in trying to curtail the insecurity in the country, since assuming Office, just a few months ago.
While we may not have any response from the Presidency as to the real reason the President failed to attend the public funeral ceremony to honour the late COAS, Nigerians continue to hope that the President’s response to issues of national importance in terms of relating directly with the people, improves in the nearest future.
