Former Vice President and 2019 Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has said that Nigerians cannot wait until 2023, for the PDP to take over power from the failed All Progressives Congress, APC, administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, learnt.
According to him, insecurity and unemployment have never been “this bad” in Nigeria, like they are under the current APC administration.
He made the statement while speaking to Journalists, at the Rivers State Government House, in Port Harcourt.
His exact words: “I have never seen it (insecurity) this bad.
“I am 70 years plus, I have never seen it this bad in terms of security challenges, in terms of economy, in terms of unemployment. This is the worst.”
On Wednesday, Atiku had met with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
A statement signed by Governor Wike’s Spokesperson, Kelvin Ebiri, revealed that Atiku travelled to Rivers State, to discuss PDP affairs.
Atiku said: “Well, I came here to reconcile with the Governor on party affairs, and how we can ensure that there is unity and stability in the party, so that we can take over government in 2023. I believe that Nigerians cannot wait for 2023 to come, so that PDP will return.”
Atiku added that the PDP “will come up with our policies”, and “present them to Nigerians when the time comes”.
He noted: “We have done that before.
“Under PDP, we recorded the highest economic growth, the best foreign reserves, we reduced unemployment. You know that we can do it.”
