Emerging report indicates that on Thursday night, Nigerians experienced a little bit of Twitter outage.
This led to speculations that the President Muhammadu Buhari Federal Government had clamped down on the social media app, amid the ongoing #EndSARS online campaign.
However, it quickly emerged that it was a global issue caused by a system change.
According to the Twitter Support, “most of you should be back to Tweeting. The outage was caused by a system change initiated earlier than planned, affecting most of our servers.
“We are working hard to bring Twitter back to normal, and expect things to be fully resolved in 1-2 hours. We appreciate your patience.”
However, it was noticed that the #EndSARS hashtag now has an emoji with the Nigerian flag’s green and white colours.
The Founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, had earlier endorsed the call to scrap the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
