Chief Bisi Akande, a former Governor of Osun State and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has called on the agitators for Oduduwa Republic, to bury such thought, Page 36 learnt.
Akande, who was the Pioneer Interim Chairman of the APC, made the appeal on Monday, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
He maintained that, allowing Yorubas to break away from Nigeria, may lead to bloodshed and avoidable civil war that would further decimate the people.
He consequently called on those agitating for a Yoruba nation, to bury the idea, saying that the nation cannot afford to witness another civil war.
“Those agitating for a Yoruba nation should have a rethink. This country must remain united, to save it from war.
“Yoruba will be in war for another 100 years, if Nigeria is allowed to break”, he said.
Going further, he added that Nigeria is a product of war, noting that, the country came into existence after Yorubas had gone into 100 years of wars.
He stated that most African countries and the western world envy Nigeria, because the country is the heartbeat of Africa.
