The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has offered free tickets for the 2023 Presidential, Governorship, and other elective positions, to major Promoters of the EndSARS protest in 2020, which include celebrities like Tubaba, Wizkid, Mr. Macaroni, DJ Switch, others,
The ADC National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu, disclosed this while receiving a certificate of endorsement of the ADC, as a party for Nigerian youths and women.
Nwosu explained that the party’s decision to opt for celebrities for the 2023 general elections, is part of measures to encourage youth involvement and participation in politics, adding that, Entertainers have done more for the country than elected Politicians.
The party stated that it believes that the 2020 EndSARS protests against Police brutality succeeded, because of celebrities’ endorsement and involvement.
The ADC Chairman assured the celebrities that they could vie for any elective position in the country on the ADC’s platform, provided they meet the Constitutional and INEC requirements.
Recall, that on Wednesday, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, announced February 18, 2023, for the commencement of the general elections.
He said: “By the principle established by the Commission, the 2023 general election swill hold on Saturday, February 18, 2023, which is exactly one year, nine months, two weeks, and six days, or 660 days from today.”
