The Department of State Security Services, DSS, has on Thursday, said that a Team of Joint Security Operatives raided the home of the Yoruba Nation Agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, in the early hours of today,
The DSS Spokesperson, Dr. Peter Afunanya, disclosed this in a briefing with Journalists, this evening.
He said that the raid was based on Intelligence that Igboho is stockpiling arms to cause unrest in the South-West region.
He further disclosed that when the Security Operatives approached the house, they were attacked by 6 of Igboho’s boys, who engaged them in a gun battle.
2 of Igboho’s men were killed, while an Operative of the DSS sustained injury during the raid, according to Afunanya.
He maintained that Igboho escaped during the gun battle, revealing that the Yoruba Activist is now on the run, but the law would catch up with him soonest.
Afunanya however, urged Igboho to turn himself in to the Security Agencies.
