A cross section of Nigerians have attacked the Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, for urging President Muhammadu Buhari to turn the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Camps into Military training grounds, and recruit “willing and able” Corps members into the Military to fight terrorists and other criminals, while those that refuse to join should be made to serve in their communities without any pay,
Page 36 had earlier reported that Governor Fayemi pointed out that one of the cheapest and fastest ways to handle the insecurity in the country, is to amend the Law setting up the NYSC scheme.
Reacting however in outrage, some Nigerians on the social media called on Governor Fayemi to lead by example, by bringing his children living and studying abroad back to Nigeria, to join the Military, to encourage the citizens back home to follow suit.
