Emerging report indicates that President Muhammadu Buhari has on Wednesday, sent the name of an All Progressives Congress, APC, member, Lauretta Onochie, to the Senate, to be confirmed immediately as the Substantive Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, just ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, at the plenary, today, read the nomination letters sent to the Senate by the President, naming 14 others as members of the NDDC Board.
Onochie is currently the Special Adviser on Social Media to the President, and she was earlier nominated by the President as a Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the 2023 general elections, which received major backlash from concerned Nigerians for her partisanship.
