Emerging report indicates that suspected armed Fulani bandits, on Monday evening, kidnapped Mrs. Seriya Raji, the mother of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello’s Chief of Staff, Abdulkarim Jamiu Asuku.
It was gathered that the incident happened at her residence, in Nagazi community, Adavi Local Government Area of the State.
A resident of Inese/Ovakere New Layout, in Nagazi community, where Mrs. Raji resides, revealed that the gunmen stormed her residence at about 7:40pm, shortly after she observed the evening Muslim prayer, in her Mosque, within the house.
According to the source, the bandits were 6 in number, dressed in black suits, with masks, holding a ‘Ghana Must Go’ bag, suspected to have contained guns and other dangerous weapons.
He said that they entered her house through the Mosque, and whisked her away using their car.
The bandits were yet to contact the victim’s family members to demand any ransom, as at the time of filing in this report.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP William Ovye Aya, could not be reached to confirm the incident, as he failed to pick his calls, or respond to text messages sent to his phone.
